Our Middle Schools

Evans MS

Mr. Doug Glazebrook, the Director of Instrumental Music at Evans Middle School, is currently in his 15th year at the school.  He and his wife, Pam, have 2 children—Andy and Emily.   When attending Harrison, Mr. “G” was an excellent trombonist in high school and was a member of the EVSC All-City Band.  He organized the Evans Jazz Band, which has produced many fine players over the years.  Two of his graduates include Alex Smith, the current Mater Dei HS Band Director, and Brittney Tyler, a 4-year member of the EVSC Honors Jazz Ensemble and recent North HS graduate.

Oak Hill MS

Mr. Don Travis is opening his 33rd year of teaching instrumental music in the EVSC.   Mr. Travis earned his BME from Murray State and his MME from the Univ. of Evansville.  His major instrument is the tuba.  In 2003, Mr. Travis was honored by being selected the Outstanding Middle School Teacher of the Year!  Mr. Travis has also served as President of the Evansville Teachers Association.  Most of Mr. Travis' outside activities revolve around church and family. He and his wife, Susan, try to spend quality time with their youngest daughter, Katia. They also continue to enjoy the company of their son, Chris, their daughter, Rebecca, and their grandchildren.  Mr. Travis is very involved with the music program at The Methodist Temple, participating in the adult choir and directing the bell choirs.
